A Note from the 111 Places Team

We at 111 Places and Emons Publishing want to let you know that we are thinking of you and hoping you are safe and healthy. These are unprecedented times, and it's been heartening to see people around the world doing whatever we must do to get through it together.

Our offices have closed, our staff is now working from home, and we are keeping the authors and photographers who are working on our upcoming books out of harm's way. Emons is a family-owned business, and the safety of all our colleagues is paramount. We feel the same way about our readers.

Our guidebooks are created for locals first and then for experienced travelers. So if you're staying home right now and only stepping out for a bit of fresh air, maybe there's a wonderful place or story close by that you've never even known existed. Or, if you want to do some armchair traveling or plan for your future vacation, pick up one of our international insiders guides to a city or region and imagine going there in person. Our books feature places, but actually they are filled with 111 wonderful stories about the people, places, and events that make each city or region so special and unique.

Obviously, travel has ceased for the moment, and for good reason. But one day, hopefully soon, we'll be able to pick up those vacation and study abroad plans again. In the meantime, while we're all staying home, we invite you to look at the world of stories and intrigue right outside your front door with the 111 Places guidebook to your own city, or one nearby (US, UK).

Please take care, stay home, and enjoy reading our guidebooks. They're available online around the world, but do order from your local book stores if they offer online sales. We can only go so far from our homes right now, but we can read and dream all we want.

Be well and stay home - just for now.
